Could You Help Just One Child?
God could use you to make a difference in child's life. As a sponsor, you can become a special friend to a particular child who desperately needs you. You will be personally linked with a specific child and with your support of $30 per month, you will be giving hope to that child who has no parents, no one to care for them.
My name is Temesgen, and I'm 11 years old
I live in Ethiopia, Africa. Since my mom and dad died last year, I have no family left to take care of me. There are 4.6 million orphans like me in Ethiopia. That's one out of every ten kids living in my country!
I work wherever and whenever I can so people will give me something to eat, and sleep wherever someone lets me. It's especially hard when it doesn't rain much, because even the kindest people don't want to give me any food when there is not even enough for their own children.
I want to go to school like some other kids do, but I don't have money for books and tuition even if I could. Since so many people in Ethiopia don't go to school, only about half the dads can read and write, and even fewer moms.
I think that I am lucky to be alive because out of every 10 children born in the huts around my village, 2 die before they reach the age of 5. I have lost many friends to things like diarrhea, malnutrition, colds, and even something called AIDS. There are 315 people dying every day from this AIDS alone. That makes a lot of fatherless and homeless orphans.
You may be thinking, "Wow, that is so many orphans. What difference could I make?"

The Kamashi Orphanage
The Kamashi Orphanage is a home of love and hope for 500 orphaned children like Temesgen. The home was established in response to a plea from the Christian president of the Benishangul-Gumuz region aches for the many orphans and abandoned children in his region, but his government doesn't have the resources to help them.
Through sponsorship in the Kamashi Orphanage, each child receives both Christian care and education.
Personal Care
In the home, children are provided plenty to eat, a warm bed and a clean environment along with supervision by loving dorm parents who attend to their physical, spiritual, and emotional needs. Each dorm parent considers it their ministry to love and care for the children as their own. While fun things are planned to provide diversion, they are rounded out with daily chores, bible reading, and devotions.
Christian Education
Each sponsored child receives a quality, Christian education. The school located on-campus, is one of the finest in the region for academic excellence, while instilling Christian principles and values.
Trained & Challenged
Its' our goal to not only produce the best educated young adults, but to send them forth with purpose and a challenge to make a difference in their country. As the teachers and staff pour themselves into these previously hopeless children, they are transformed into dedicated Christians and contributing members of society, with hope, purpose, and destiny.

Thinking of how many millions of children and families are hungry around the world can be overwhelming. A caring person might ask, "what can one person do to make a difference? Less than a dollar a day will sponsor an orphaned or abandoned child. That's right, just $30 per month. You will receive a photo of your child and his personal information when you begin your sponsorship. Then you will get to know your child more personally through letters written by your sponsored child along with progress reports and updated photos.
To care for, educate and operate the children's home and school, it actually costs $90/month to support a child. If you feel so led and God has given you the provision, you may elect to Fully Support a child's entire need or you could choose to support multiple children at the $30 sponsorship level.
